However, the final list of ministers is expected to be approved only on Tuesday morning. Sources said the Congress high command has informed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar that the final list is likely to be sent around 10 am on Tuesday.
Before that, the party leadership is likely to hold another round of discussions, as a consensus on all names is yet to be reached. Earlier in the day, Shivakumar expressed confidence that the cabinet expansion would take place on Tuesday, noting that the Governor was on his way to Bengaluru. “The Governor is on his way to Bengaluru," Shivakumar said during a press conference, indicating that the swearing-in ceremony was expected to go ahead as planned. Sources, however, said the list has not been finalised yet and discussions are still underway. If the leadership fails to reach a consensus by Tuesday morning, the Cabinet expansion and oath-taking ceremony are likely to be postponed to Wednesday, August 5.
