CNN-News18 has accessed exclusive visuals from the protest site. No fatalities have been reported in Rawalakot so far despite the reported firing. Sit-in continues at D-Chowk At D-Chowk, protesters are holding what they described as a peaceful temporary sit-in.
According to information from the ground, a peaceful long march towards Muzaffarabad may begin at any moment. Security forces have reportedly been carrying out intermittent heavy firing in the area. However, there have been no reports of deaths in Rawalakot so far. Women, children continue protest At Dreak Eidgah, where a protest sit-in had continued for 50 days, women and children are now leading the demonstration. The protesters said the sit-in would continue until the recognised demands of the movement are implemented. Support for the protest also continued from different parts of the region. Young people from far-flung areas arrived at the Rawalakot D-Chowk protest site on motorcycles carrying dry rations for those participating in the agitation.
Medical camps set up The ongoing sit-in has also affected medical services in the area. According to the information available, disruptions in medical facilities prompted the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies to establish two mobile field medical camps. The camps have so far provided free medical examinations to 101 people. Officials also shifted seven patients to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot for further treatment. The protest remains underway, with demonstrators insisting that they will continue their sit-in until their demands are fulfilled, while security forces remain deployed in the area amid continued tension.
