Karnataka has released Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu from the full Kabini Reservoir as inflow into reservoirs reached 67,378 cusecs. The state government is mulling an appeal in the Supreme Court against the Cauvery committee's order after seeking legal experts' advice. An all-party meeting held in the Chief Minister's office reached a consensus on prioritizing Karnataka's drinking water needs.
Recent heavy rainfall over the past two to three days has improved the overall water situation, though authorities will continue to monitor developments. Additionally, an appeal has been made stating there is no need for a bandh over the Cauvery water issue.
