The Cauvery water dispute has intensified with fresh legal and political developments between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The row has reached the Supreme Court after Tamil Nadu sought the immediate release of Cauvery water, alleging Karnataka has failed to comply with the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee's directive to release 3,500 cusecs of water daily for 15 days.
Karnataka, citing low reservoir levels and water scarcity, has called an all-party meeting led by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to decide its next course of action.
