Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the release of ₹4,597 crore towards tax devolution to Andhra Pradesh. In a message posted on social media on Saturday, Mr. Kalyan said the funds had come at a crucial time and would provide additional fiscal strength to expand infrastructure, improve connectivity, strengthen agriculture and irrigation, enhance education and healthcare, and advance key development initiatives across the State.
Kalyan said the Centre’s decision to release an advance instalment of ₹1,09,019 crore to the States would equip them with timely financial resources and contribute to the goal of building a prosperous Bharat. Describing the advance release
of tax devolution, ahead of the usual schedule, as a visionary step, he said it would accelerate capital expenditure, fast-track infrastructure development, strengthen welfare delivery, promote rural and urban transformation, generate employment, attract investments and sustain economic
growth across the country. Terming the decision transformative, Mr. Kalyan said Mr. Modi’s commitment to cooperative federalism and his resolve to provide States with greater financial certainty were playing a catalytic role in accelerating India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat.
