The three-week induction programme for first-year students of the Faculty of Engineering at Khaja Bandanawaz University concluded with a valedictory function held on Friday. Addressing the gathering, Dean of Engineering Subhas Kamal urged the students to set high academic goals and strive for distinction. He said the university had introduced a new curriculum and advised the students to avoid backlogs, maintain a minimum CGPA of 8, and ensure regular attendance, noting that 80% attendance is mandatory.
He also cautioned students against missing classes. Assistant Dean of Student Welfare Maroof highlighted the importance of disciplined learning and urged the students to respect their teachers. He said learning is a continuous process and encouraged students to strengthen the technical skills related to their respective branches of engineering. He stressed the need to cultivate a research-oriented mindset.
Campus Dean Kamal Azam said the university provides quality education that equips students for employment after graduation. He encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to the nation and wished them success in their academic and professional careers. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the essay writing and cooking competitions organised as part of the induction programme.
Students, including Madiha, Zubair Ahmed, Sumayya and Mohinuddin Khan, shared their experiences of participating in the three-week programme. Programme coordinator Srinivas presented a report on the activities conducted during the programme.
