Two migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh, Deepak Ratray (24) and Bopinder Kumar (28), were killed after terrorists opened fire at a brick kiln in the Kelam area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district. The attack marks the first fatal strike on migrant workers in Jammu and Kashmir in nearly 21 months.
Following the incident, security forces launched a massive search operation, while Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced an ex gratia of โน10 lakh each for the victims' families.
