Air India will launch a seasonal Mumbai-Toronto non-stop service from October 25 and deploy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on Delhi-Toronto flights as it expands capacity to Canada for the Winter 2026-27 schedule.The airline said the Mumbai-Toronto service will operate three times a week until March 26, 2027, making Air India the only carrier to offer direct flights between the two cities during the winter season. The expansion will add about 4,400 seats every month between India and Canada and increase premium seat capacity to Toronto by 71%.The move comes as Air India expands capacity on one of its key international markets, where demand is driven by family travel, business links and the Indian diaspora. Alongside launching a new Mumbai-Toronto route, the airline is deploying new and upgraded aircraft on Toronto services to offer a uniform onboard product across the market.Also Read: India to get 11 new flying schools to tackle India's 30000+ pilot shortageThe new Mumbai-Toronto flights will be operated using upgraded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft configured with eight First Class suites, 40 Business Class flat beds and 280 Economy seats.
The aircraft will also offer onboard Wi-Fi connectivity.Air India also said it has started operating its brand-new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on Delhi-Toronto flights, bringing its latest cabin products to Canada for the first time.During the Winter 2026-27 schedule, seven of the 10 weekly Delhi-Toronto flights will be operated by the new Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
