(Image: Reuters/File) Mushaal Mullick, the wife of jailed Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik, has offered to mediate between the Pakistani state and the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) amid the continuing crisis in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Mullick called for dialogue to end the deadlock, saying peaceful engagement was the only way to resolve the unrest. She also appealed to Pakistan’s military leadership, including field marshal Asim Munir, to intervene immediately and help restore peace in the region.

‘People Are Demanding Basic Facilities’ Mullick said residents of PoK were demanding basic public facilities, including clean drinking water, roads and access to healthcare. She criticised the political leadership for failing to address these concerns and accused politicians of becoming insensitive to the suffering of the people. Mullick also stressed the value of human life and said the continuing violence in PoK was deeply distressing. Mullick Says Kashmiris Not Against Pakistani State Seeking to defuse tensions, Mullick said Kashmiris were not opposed to the Pakistani state. She proposed the formation of a human chain as part of an effort to break the deadlock, bring the two sides together and facilitate dialogue. Mullick offered to serve as an intermediary between the Pakistani authorities and the JAAC to help initiate negotiations.

Appeal To Pakistan’s Military Leadership Mullick directly appealed to Pakistan’s military leadership to step in amid the continuing unrest. Top intelligence sources told CNN-News18 that by turning directly to the military leadership, Mullick was publicly acknowledging the political reality in Pakistan — that the establishment, rather than the civilian government, holds ultimate authority, particularly over national security, border regions and Kashmir policy. According to the sources, Mullick is being used by the Pakistan Army to help defuse the PoK crisis and break the deadlock with the JAAC. Her assertion that Kashmiris were not against the “Riyasat-e-Pakistan" was seen as part of that effort to contain public anger and prevent a wider confrontation with the Pakistani state.
