Timeline Of Terror Attacks On Civilians A series of terror attacks targeting civilians, particularly non-locals and pilgrims, has raised concerns over the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir over the past two years. In February 2024, terrorists shot dead two non-local workers from Punjab in Srinagar’s Habba Kadal area, marking one of the deadliest attacks on migrant workers in the Valley. A few months later, terrorists ambushed a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. The attack caused the bus to plunge into a gorge, killing nine people and injuring several others. In October 2024, terrorists opened fire on a construction camp in the Gagangir area near Sonamarg, targeting workers involved in a major infrastructure project. The attack claimed the lives of six migrant labourers and a local doctor. The deadliest civilian attack in recent years took place in 2025, when terrorists struck Pahalgam, killing 26 people, including one local resident.
