BJP leader Raghav Chadha on Friday targeted the Congress during a Rajya Sabha debate on examination paper leaks, recalling the alleged 2016 Karnataka Pre-University Chemistry paper leak and saying, “Leak double, trauma triple," as he accused the party of failing to protect students from repeated examination failures. Speaking in the Upper House, Chadha referred to the alleged leak of the Class 12 state board Chemistry examination conducted during the Congress government in Karnataka. He claimed the incident became more embarrassing after even the re-examination paper was allegedly leaked, forcing the authorities to cancel the test twice. “The most shocking and sad thing is that in 2016, when Congress was in power in Karnataka, the 12th paper of Pre-University College was leaked.

It wasn’t a classroom paper. It was a state board exam," Chadha said. Sharing the video on X, Chadha wrote, “The most damning paper leak story in this entire debate is about a Congress minister whose own office was leaking exam papers. 2016, Karnataka, Congress in power. He said the authorities later cancelled the paper and conducted a fresh examination nearly 20 days later. However, Chadha alleged that the second paper also found its way into the public domain before the test began. According to him, the re-examination paper was circulating on WhatsApp at around 3.30 am, leading to its cancellation as well. Chadha further claimed that the Karnataka CID arrested three people in connection with the case, including the personal assistant of the then Karnataka Medical Education Minister, Dr Sharan Patil. He alleged that the minister’s aide leaked the question paper in exchange for ₹10 lakh. Chadha also said demands were made at the time for the minister to resign, but he refused to do so. Quoting the minister’s alleged response, Chadha said, “He said, there is no question of resigning. If something goes wrong, it’s my PA’s personal matter. It’s his personal life. It’s the office government’s, designation government’s, access government’s, but arrest is a matter of personal life."
