A Zero FIR registered in Noida against Ruchika Singh for allegedly using objectionable slogans targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest at Jantar Mantar has been transferred to Delhi Police for further investigation. A woman facing a police case over alleged objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest at Jantar Mantar has reportedly gone missing, with her Noida residence found locked and her employer claiming she had provided a different name while working at a salon. CNN’s Smriti Mishra visited the flat of Ruchika Singh in a Noida society and found the premises locked. Neighbours said they last saw Singh and her mother on Monday, July 27.
They claimed the mother-daughter duo has not been seen since the video of the alleged remarks went viral. One neighbour said residents were shocked after watching the video and hearing the language allegedly used by Singh. According to the salon owner, Singh had introduced herself using a different name and had not submitted mandatory identity documents required for employment. The owner said she was asked to provide her Aadhaar card after the documentation issue came to light. However, Singh allegedly continued visiting the salon for a few more days without submitting the required proof. The owner claimed that June 9 was the last day Singh visited the salon.

The FIR was registered on July 29 based on a complaint alleging that the woman made abusive remarks against PM Modi during a demonstration held over the NEET paper leak issue on July 23. The complaint stated that the alleged remarks were disrespectful towards the office of the Prime Minister and had the potential to disturb public order and create enmity among communities. The case has been registered under Sections 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 353(1) (public mischief) and 356(1) (criminal defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
