CM Vijay presents medals to police and other personnel

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Friday presented the President’s Police Medal, the Union Home Minister’s Medal, and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medal to 633 uniformed services personnel and others under various categories. At a ceremony held at the Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, Mr. Vijay presented the medals to personnel of the Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Fire and Rescue Services, Prisons and Correctional Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence, and Forensic Sciences under various categories.
Earlier, Mr. Vijay accepted the Guard of Honour, inspected the parade led by Akash Joshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tiruppur city, and received the parade salute. During the ceremony, honours were accorded to the Tamil Nadu Police’s prestigious President’s Colours. The Chief Minister also commissioned 42 four-wheelers and 96 two-wheelers for induction into the Tamil Nadu Coastal Security Group.
The ceremony featured demonstrations by the Tamil Nadu Police Dog Squad, an arms drill by the Greater Chennai Police (GCP), a hostage rescue and counter-terrorism mock drill by the Quick Reaction Team of the Tamil Nadu Commando Force, and a motorcycle stunt display by the Tamil Nadu Police. Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar; Ministers; Chief Secretary M.
Sai Kumar; Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Prohibition and Excise K. Manivasan; Director-General of Police/Head of Police Force Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal; GCP Commissioner A. Amalraj, and senior officials attended the event.
