Rapid Read Noida Police have booked Ruchika Singh for allegedly making abusive remarks against PM Narendra Modi during the July 23 NEET protest. Amid the controversy over alleged abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest at Jantar Mantar, Ruchika Singh’s mother told salon owner Shalini that an apology letter had already been submitted to police officials after her daughter was booked. “We have already given an apology letter to the police officials. We are very sorry about what has happened", Ruchika’s mother said. Ruchika Singh was named in a complaint filed at the Expressway police station in Noida by a Ghaziabad resident over allegations that she used abusive and derogatory language against the Prime Minister during a protest organised at Jantar Mantar on July 23.

Noida Woman Booked Over Abusive Remarks Against PM Modi At Jantar Mantar Protest Police registered the Zero FIR under Sections 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 353(1) (statements conducing to public mischief) and 356(1) (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Since the alleged incident took place in Delhi, the Zero FIR will be transferred to the Delhi Police for further investigation. The matter came to light after videos from the protest surfaced on social media, following which police identified Singh and traced her Noida address. Police teams from Delhi and Noida also visited her residential society and collected details from the management and staff. Meanwhile, salon owner Shalini had earlier claimed that Singh was a temporary visitor at the salon and had come to learn from one of the employees. She said Singh had not submitted any identification documents and was asked to leave. She also claimed that Singh used to make entries in the salon register under the name “Menshil".
Not Seen Since Protest As police continue efforts to trace Ruchika Singh, residents and security staff at her Noida housing society said she has not been seen there since the controversy surrounding the protest emerged. The security guards, who said they were familiar with Singh, claimed that she used to stay in the society with her mother but had been absent for some time. They said they did not have information about whether she was a student or a working professional. According to the guards, teams from the Delhi and Noida Police visited the society, met the management and staff, and collected details related to her residence. Jantar Mantar Protest The alleged remarks were made during a protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, including the NEET paper leak controversy. The demonstration gained attention after several videos from the protest surfaced and circulated widely on social media. Following the registration of the Zero FIR, the case will be transferred to the Delhi Police as the alleged incident took place in the national capital.
