The controversy surrounding the Central Board of Secondary Education's on-screen marking system has escalated, reaching the Delhi High Court. A students' union has filed a public interest litigation demanding compensatory marks for class twelfth students whose answer scripts were allegedly blurred, missing, or incorrectly evaluated. The petition also seeks an extension of the re-evaluation window until the end of June and an independent inquiry into the systemic irregularities of the digital evaluation process.
In response to the growing issue, the government has initiated a probe into the services provided by the companies involved in the on-screen marking tender. Consequently, two senior bureaucrats, including the board's chairperson and secretary, have been transferred. A one-member committee from the Capacity Building Commission has been formed to investigate the tender process awarded to a Hyderabad-based company, which was previously involved in a similar examination controversy in Telangana.
