The stock rebound in global chipmakers carried into Friday, with Korea's Kospi index surging an eye-popping 18%, led by memory giant SK Hynix. In the US, Nasdaq 100 futures rose as Amazon rallied after strong earnings, Apple futures tumbled after component shortages weighed on the company’s sales forecast. In geopolitics, President Donald Trump said his Board of Peace officials had reached an agreement for Hamas to disarm. The President said it would clear the way for Gaza to be placed under a new Palestinian government that would work closely with the Board of Peace. However, questions remained about the extent of the accord and officials suggested it would not be implemented immediately.
The Spanish government has ordered an emergency military deployment to one of the country’s two North African enclaves after thousands of illegal immigrants entered in recent days.
