In a strongly worded post on social media, Chadha underlined that systemic issues such as paper leaks cannot be addressed through “soundbites" or temporary fixes, calling instead for a robust institutional solution.

“Paper leak is not cured by soundbites. It needed a real institutional fix, and today we gave it one," he said, backing the proposed legislation. The bill, introduced by the government, seeks to crack down on malpractice in public examinations by prescribing stricter penalties for those involved in leaking question papers and by putting in place mechanisms to prevent such incidents. The move comes in the wake of multiple controversies, including the NEET exam row, which triggered widespread protests and outrage among students across the country. Addressing students directly, Chadha acknowledged their distress, saying their anger, pain and complaints against the system were valid. He emphasised that their concerns had not gone unheard and noted that the response from the government reflects an attempt to restore credibility and trust in the examination process.

“Cancer is not cured by Crocin," he said, before adding, “that is why I stood in support of the Public Examination Amendment Bill 2026. Because this is India’s first real, institutional answer to paper leaks." Chadha also expressed support for the government’s approach, stating that the new law represents a concrete step towards addressing a long-standing issue that has repeatedly undermined merit and fairness in competitive exams. The proposed legislation is being seen as a significant policy intervention aimed at strengthening the integrity of India’s examination system. It also signals a broader effort to ensure accountability and deter organised malpractice, which has increasingly come under scrutiny in recent years.
