In the video posted on Instagram, the woman said the delivery agent arrived to drop off an order and requested drinking water. She said she have him a bottle and even asked him to take it along with him. At this point, though, the man kept asking for more water and insisted that he be allowed to enter her house. News18.com could not independently verify the claims made in the video. Despite her repeated refusals, the woman alleged that the delivery partner continued to request entry. She said she suggested he could sit outside instead, but he persisted in asking to come indoors. Escalation According to her, the situation escalated when she attempted to shut the gate, after which the man allegedly rang the doorbell multiple times and again asked to be let in. The woman said she got scared and locked the door.
She said that after the door was locked, the delivery agent then began banging on the gate. In the video, she urged Zepto to look into the matter and expressed dissatisfaction with the company’s grievance redressal system. She said that when she tried to file a complaint through the app, she received an automated response stating that the issue was being reviewed. The video has since gained significant traction online, prompting concerns over customer safety. Several users called for a thorough investigation, while others questioned the background verification processes followed by quick-commerce platforms. Some suggested stricter checks, including criminal background and address verification, to enhance safety. Others advised caution during deliveries, recommending minimal interaction and asking delivery personnel to leave orders at the doorstep.
