Following discussions at Jantar Mantar over the use of pellet guns to control crowds, Kashmir pellet gun victim Insha Bashir has received an LPG license from the Jammu and Kashmir government after a ten-year struggle. Insha lost her eyesight in 2016 when a pellet struck her while she was sitting inside her home. Expressing deep pain over her lost vision and the suffering of affected children in Kashmir, she urged that pellet guns should never be used against protesters or crowds.
While feeling relieved by the government assistance, she remains heartbroken over her permanent loss.
