The Kerala High Court has allowed the State government further time to complete the probe into cases against a TV channel for violating a gag order in the actor assault case of 2017, in a petition filed by actor Dileep, who was the eighth accused in the case.
Justice Jobin Sebastian orally remarked that the “matter will be taken very seriously” if there was any further delay. Earlier, the court had warned that contempt proceedings would
be initiated if its direction to fast-track the investigation within the prescribed time was not followed. It had then granted time for the State to update the court
on the present status of the investigation against the owner and employees of a TV channel that had allegedly published details of in-camera proceedings in the assault case.
