The Bombay High Court, sitting at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, has dismissed four petitions challenging the results of the NEET re-test examination conducted by the Testing Agency (NTA). The court also imposed a fine of 5,000 on each petitioner for approaching the court with allegations that were found to be unsubstantiated. The petitions had alleged that the Re-NEET results declared by the NTA were incorrect and that errors had occurred during the evaluation of answer sheets. COURT EXAMINES ORIGINAL ANSWER SHEETS During the hearing, the court acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations and directed that the original answer sheets of the concerned students be brought from Delhi in sealed envelopes for verification. The answer sheets were produced before the bench and examined by the judges themselves. The students, their parents and their lawyers were also allowed to inspect the original answer sheets. After reviewing the records, the court found that the marks awarded and the results declared by the NTA matched the answers recorded in the original answer sheets.
The bench observed that no errors or discrepancies were found in the evaluation process. PETITIONERS ALLEGED EVALUATION ERRORS Senior Panel Counsel for the NTA, Rohit Sarvagya, represented the Central Government and the testing agency during the proceedings. He presented the original documents and records before the court for examination. After considering the evidence and verifying the documents, the court dismissed all four petitions and upheld the Re-NEET results declared by the NTA. The court further imposed a penalty of 5,000 on each petitioner, stating that the petitions were filed based on incorrect and unsupported claims.
With this order, the Re-NEET results declared by the NTA have received judicial validation from the Bombay High Court. Ends
