Key amendments include increasing punishment for individuals and service providers from three to five years of imprisonment to five to ten years, alongside raising fines up to fifty lakh rupees.
The bill mandates time-bound legal procedures, requiring investigations to conclude within two months and trials within three months. During the proceedings, historical paper leak instances spanning recruitment boards, medical entrances, and state public service commission exams were highlighted to emphasize systemic issues. Opposition members raised objections and offered running commentary during the address, while the government reiterated its resolve of zero tolerance towards compromising student welfare and public recruitment integrity.
