The Karnataka Legislative Council chief has criticised the state government over the delayed cabinet expansion, calling for immediate appointments to address the severe drought facing the state. The Upper House chairperson demanded the deployment of one minister per district to manage farmer distress and governance issues.
Beyond the drought, the state is dealing with multiple ongoing challenges, including a job scam and the unresolved Cauvery water dispute. The opposition has also attacked the government over administrative delays. Although the Chief Minister has been in New Delhi for discussions, no decision on the cabinet expansion has been announced yet.
