Amid the controversy surrounding the use of pellet guns during recent Gen Z protests in the national capital, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General Gianendra Pratap Singh stated that he stands by his troops and takes full responsibility for all bona fide decisions and actions taken by the force during duty. CBI Director Praveen Sood supported the CRPF chief's statement, praising his leadership for taking accountability and backing the personnel on the ground.
Sources revealed that 43 Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel were injured, including seven severely, during clashes at Connaught Place on July 20. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the action taken against protesting students. Rahul Gandhi asserted that Amit Shah is either culpable for ordering the force or incompetent for not knowing about it, reiterating his demand for the Home Minister's immediate resignation.
