The Karnataka High Court has ordered an independent probe and forensic audit into the land acquisition and financial dealings of the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway project, executed by NICE. The court raised serious concerns over the acquisition of more than 20,000 acres of land beyond project requirements and flagged alleged encroachments on lake lands.
The High Court observed that farmers were short-changed and denied fair compensation.
