A major political row has erupted over Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's remarks made on the floor of the House during a debate on the examination reform committee and paper leak issue. Priyanka Gandhi referred to IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti as a "gau mutra expert" while questioning the credentials of members on the newly constituted committee, which also includes a former Intelligence Bureau chief and an IT company owner.
The Bharatiya Janata Party mounted a fierce attack against the Wayanad MP, accusing her of using Islamist slur language and making fun of Indian traditions. BJP leaders defended Professor Kamakoti, highlighting his qualifications, including a PhD in computer science and engineering and his former role as chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Task Force. BJP leaders stated that Priyanka Gandhi's comments reflect a lack of understanding of Indian culture and tradition, with senior BJP leader Amit Malviya comparing her remarks to language used by terrorists.
