A student movement initially sparked by paper leaks is expanding to classrooms across India, with Gen Alpha students taking to the streets demanding basic infrastructure and adequate teaching staff. In Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur, hundreds of students at Sarvodaya Inter College walked out over lack of clean drinking water, working fans, functional toilets, and clean classrooms. Following the walkout, the District Inspector of Schools inspected the campus, found the students' demands justified, and directed the management to resolve the issues immediately, leading to the prompt installation of new ceiling fans.
Meanwhile, in Rajasthan's Barmer, Jalore, and Sirohi districts, students locked school gates and protested against severe teacher shortages. An investigation revealed a stark disparity where remote schools struggle with teacher vacancies while several well-connected teachers secured postings near cities in schools with minimal enrollment. Consequently, the education department deployed teachers on a deputation basis to over eighty government schools across the district to restore the disrupted academic system.
