Agitators from Waris Punjab De and Akali Dal staged a march towards the Punjab Chief Minister's residence in Chandigarh, prompting heavy police deployment. Chandigarh Police erected heavy barricades, deployed water cannons, heavy vehicles, and personnel equipped with safety gear and video cameras to stop the protesting delegation from reaching the CM house.
The march began from Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, where initial barricades were breached. The protest and subsequent security measures, including route diversions by Chandigarh Police, resulted in severe traffic jams and long queues across the city as authorities attempted to halt the agitators.
