A major development from Parliament. The Lok Sabha has expunged Rahul Gandhi's remark alleging that Union Home Minister Amit Shah authorised firing on student protesters during the recent Delhi protest. The statement was removed from the official parliamentary record after objections from the Treasury benches. During the debate on the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, Union Minister Jitendra Singh rejected Rahul Gandhi's allegation, stating that decisions regarding the use of force are taken by the local magistrate and not by the Home Minister.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also objected to the remarks and demanded an apology. About NDTV (English news channel) NDTV is India's Most-Trusted News Broadcaster with the latest updates in news, sports, entertainment and much more from within India and around the world. Watch
