₹196 crore budget proposals approved for developing Rajasthan’s tribal areas

Budget proposals for 2026-27 at an estimated value of ₹196.39 crore were approved for the inclusive development of remote and tribal-dominated areas in Rajasthan here on Wednesday (July 29, 2026). The approval was made under Article 275(1) of the Constitution, dealing with grants-in-aid from the Consolidated Fund of India each year for promoting the welfare of Scheduled Tribes.
Addressing a meeting of the State-level executive committee on tribal welfare, Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas said the implementation of schemes under the Tribal Area Development Department would be speeded up in line with the Centre’s guidelines. The success of innovative projects, including drone logistics; satellite tribal health resource centres; se sorted semen technology for animal husbandry; and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) labs would be documented to ensure widespread dissemination of the best practices, Mr. Srinivas said.
For the upcoming financial proposals, priority would be given to schemes linked to the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, and the Prime Minister’s Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan. Field visits would ensure continuous monitoring of quality
and timely completion of works, Mr. Srinivas said. The State government has also decided to focus on areas with a high concentration of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), and inaccessible rural pockets, while selecting the development proposals.
