The BJP has stepped up preparations for the upcoming local body elections in Andhra Pradesh by constituting a special committee to oversee the election management, organisational coordination and campaign strategy across the State. Announcing the initiative on Wednesday, its State president P.V.N. Madhav said the party accorded top priority to the elections and was strengthening its organisational network down to the grassroots level.
โAs part of the strategy, the State has been divided into four zones โ North Andhra, Godavari, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, with senior leaders assigned responsibility for each. The committee will supervise election planning, organisational coordination, field-level activities, candidate selection and continuous engagement with the party workers,โ he said. The committee comprised Health Minister Y.
Satya Kumar, State general secretary N. Ramesh Naidu, MLAs Eswar Rao Nadukuditi, C. Adinarayana Reddy and Podal Venkata Parthasarathy, MLC Somu Veerraju, State vice-presidents Adari Anand Kumar Sitaramanjaneya Chowdary, RTC Regional Chairman S. Suresh Reddy, and State chief spokesperson V. Jayaprakash Narayana. Madhav said the committee would coordinate with party units at the district, mandal and Shakti Kendra levels to implement a comprehensive election strategy aimed at ensuring a strong performance in the local body polls.
He instructed the committee members to focus on strengthening booth-level organisation, mobilising party workers and executing an effective election management plan across the State.
