Several international organisations, including the United Nations and Amnesty International, have expressed concern over the humanitarian situation and violence in PoK, with rights groups calling for restraint and protection of civilians.

Critics, however, argue that allegations of human rights abuses by Pakistani security forces have received limited attention from major Western media organisations. According to these critics, leading international broadcasters and publications, including the BBC, CNN, Fox News and France 24, have not provided sustained coverage of the alleged abuses in PoK, prompting accusations of selective reporting and double standards in covering human rights issues. The criticism extends to sections of the Pakistani media as well, with observers claiming that reports on the alleged crackdown in PoK have received limited domestic coverage despite growing concerns over the situation. Some analysts have also alleged that Pakistan’s strategic military ties with the United States have contributed to a lack of sustained international scrutiny of its security forces, although no evidence has been presented to establish a direct link between diplomatic relations and editorial decisions by news organisations.

At the same time, several British Members of Parliament have continued to raise concerns over developments in PoK, calling for greater international attention to the situation despite what they describe as limited global media coverage. The debate has also drawn comparisons with international reporting on protests in India. Critics point to extensive global coverage of demonstrations by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in New Delhi, arguing that similar attention has not been given to the situation in PoK. They claim this contrast reflects inconsistencies in how international media outlets cover human rights issues across the region.
