Cockroach infestation, hygiene lapses detected at food outlets in Cyberabad’s Madinaguda

Multiple food safety and hygiene violations, including a cockroach infestation, expired food items and poor sanitation, were detected during inspections carried out by the food safety teams of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) at two restaurants in GSM Mall, Madinaguda. Violations at Wow Momo At Wow Momo, inspectors found a cockroach infestation within the premises, and records relating to water testing, food testing, packaging testing and medical fitness of staff were not available.
The dishwashing area lacked a hot water provision, while expired sauces and paneer were identified and discarded during the inspection. Spoilt vegetables and leafy vegetables were also discarded. Further, officials observed that onion storage crates required proper cleaning and that the flooring had not been deep cleaned adequately.
Instruction to Barbeque Nation At Barbeque Nation, officials directed the restaurant to undertake deep cleaning of side walls, flooring and corners. A Cajun sauce container without proper labelling was discarded. The
officers also instructed the management to replace wet mats at the nonalcoholic beverage counter to prevent foul odour and maintain records of cooked food temperature monitoring to ensure food safety compliance.
