Azad reposted Pradhan’s more than a decade-old X post to target the minister after he publicly took responsibility for discrepancies in the CBSE evaluation and re-evaluation process for Class 12 examinations. In his post, Kirti Azad wrote, “Pradhan Sahib Namaskar. Tera Kya hoga Kaliya?" (sic). “In 2013, you said leaders must take responsibility. In 2026, you should follow your own advice and resign immediately. Don’t be a ‘Hippocracy’." “You are education minister of India at least check your spellings before posting," he wrote. In the December 27, 2013, post, Pradhan had written, “Learn to take responsibility, you are VP of GOP.Cowards never take responsibility.Hippocracy of Sahazade!!!" (sic). According to ANI, Pradhan chaired a meeting with CBSE officials at the CBSE headquarters on Thursday to discuss technical and payment-related issues faced by students during the re-evaluation and verification process. Addressing the media after the meeting, the Union Education Minister said the Board was working to resolve all concerns raised by students regarding the evaluation and re-evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets. “Today, we’ve gathered as the CBSE 12th class re-evaluation is about to begin soon. Seventeen lakh students appeared for the examination, and we have ninety-eight lakh answer sheets.
Each answer sheet has forty pages. So, nearly forty crore pages have been scanned," Pradhan said. Explaining the process, Pradhan said the OSM evaluation system was being used for the first time by CBSE and described it as a “student-centric" and globally accepted model aimed at improving transparency. “This was the first time CBSE used it, and some discrepancies have come to light. I take responsibility for this and assure you that a solution will be found. We are working on it. We will not leave any student’s query unaddressed," he said. Pradhan also said experts from IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras had been brought in to assist CBSE’s technical team in reviewing the software and resolving issues linked to the system. The minister further said that after discussions with the Finance Ministry, payment gateways of four public sector banks, SBI, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda and Canara Bank, had been integrated with the CBSE portal to streamline the process for students. “We take responsibility for any issues students face and apologise for them. I assure you that anyone found intentionally responsible for these discrepancies, regardless of their position within or outside CBSE, will not be spared," he said.
Pradhan also appealed to political parties not to politicise the issue and stressed that reducing stress among students should remain the priority. Meanwhile, CBSE clarified that the actual evaluation portal used for OSM had not been compromised. The Board said the URL circulating on social media was merely a testing site containing sample data and had no connection to the live evaluation system, ANI reported.
