The Lok Sabha resumed debate on the Public Examinations Prevention of Unfair Means Amendment Bill, commonly referred to as the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, following its introduction in the lower house. The legislation has been brought forward to introduce structural reforms and prevent incidents similar to the Eligibility cum Entrance Test paper leak controversy. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi is expected to address the House during the ongoing discussion.
Meanwhile, opposition members continued their protests, demanding statements from the government regarding the paper leak and raising concerns over police action against student demonstrations. During the session, several ministers and parliamentarians, including Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Jitin Prasada, Dr. P. Chandrasekhar, B. L. Verma, Satish Chandra Dubey, and Biplab Kumar Deb, laid official papers on the table of the House. The bill is expected to be put to a vote in the Lok Sabha before moving to the upper house, the Rajya Sabha, for further consideration in accordance with parliamentary procedure.
