As Spider-Man: Brand New Day explores a world where Peter Parker has been erased from everyoneâs memory, one question during India Todayâs exclusive interaction with Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon revealed just how deeply the three actorsâ lives have become intertwined over nearly a decade of working together: What if they woke up one day having forgotten each other? Ahead of its July 30 release in India, the anticipation around the Marvel film is reaching fever pitch. The film has already crossed Rs 25 crore in advance bookings nationwide and is tracking for one of the biggest Hollywood openings ever in the country.
Read Full Story Speaking to us, Zendaya admitted she couldnât even imagine such a reality. âYou guys have been such a big part of my entire 20s,â she said. Reflecting on their decade-long journey together, the actor continued, âIf I suddenly forgot you, Iâd pretty much forget an entire third of my life.â For Zendaya, it wasnât simply about losing memories of friends. It would mean losing years that helped define who she is today. âI think itâd be pretty obvious that something was missing. I donât even know what my life would even look like.â Jacob Batalon found himself agreeing almost instantly.
âThat actually is really true,â he said, adding, âBecause then Iâd be like, âSo, who am I?ââ Tom Holland, meanwhile, couldnât picture a world where either of his co-stars became strangers. âI would definitely remember Jacob because his persona and energy is truly infectious. Jacob is one of a kind,â Holland said. Turning to both Zendaya and Batalon, he added, âI would say the same thing for both of you too. I think itâs just hard to imagine not remembering who you guys are.â Never one to let an emotional moment linger for too long, Holland quickly lightened the mood with a quintessential Spider-Man reference.
âI would just put on that one song from Spider-Man, and everything would come rushing back.â Itâs the kind of easy banter that has defined the trioâs off-screen friendship ever since Spider-Man: Homecoming introduced audiences to Peter Parker, MJ and Ned in 2017. Nearly a decade later, that bond gives Brand New Dayâs central premiseâPeter being forgotten by everyone he lovesâeven greater emotional resonance. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day also stars Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo and Sadie Sink in undisclosed roles. The film releases in India on July 30, a day ahead of several international markets. Ends
