The spotlight will be on the resumed debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi expected to address the House around 12.30 pm. Alongside the anti-paper leak legislation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026, while the House is also scheduled to consider the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026. Rahul Gandhi Expected To Lead Opposition Charge The debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill remained inconclusive on Tuesday after several hours of discussion and is scheduled to resume today.

The Bill seeks to amend the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, introducing stricter punishment for those involved in examination fraud. Among the key provisions proposed are Imprisonment of up to 10 years Fine of up to Rs 10 crore Confiscation of assets of offenders Fast-track courts directed to dispose of cases within three months Rahul Gandhi is expected to speak during the resumed debate, with the Opposition likely to question the government’s handling of recent examination irregularities and argue that stronger accountability is needed alongside tougher penalties. Amit Shah To Introduce Births And Deaths Amendment Bill Apart from the examination debate, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to introduce the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha. The revised list of business also includes consideration and passage of the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, to be moved by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. However, Opposition MPs, including members from the Trinamool Congress, Revolutionary Socialist Party and Congress, have moved a statutory resolution expressing disapproval of the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Ordinance promulgated in May this year, setting the stage for another round of debate. The House is also expected to take up several procedural and parliamentary matters during the day.
