The Kashmir Janta Party has issued a fresh warning to the government, threatening to restart nationwide protests if FIRs filed against student protesters are not completely withdrawn. The development follows a Supreme Court order stating that FIRs against student protesters must be withdrawn, except for those involving individuals with prior criminal records.
The party contends that the government previously assured complete immunity for all demonstrators, including those with criminal records, and urged the authorities not to misuse the court directive. It demanded that action for past criminal cases be handled separately rather than targeting individuals for participating in the demonstrations.
