Senior officials told News18 that on the basis of where the victims were, who have been inflicted upon with injuries appearing similar to that of a pellet gun, it appears that the weapon was not used in zone one, which was Jantar Mantar – the epicentre of the protest. Zone one was the Jantar Mantar site and no use of such a weapon has been reported from there, the officer added. The Delhi Police, however, did not officially confirm the usage of pellet guns during the protest by any of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel, which is the anti-riot wing of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and was deployed under the Delhi Police.
