Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed the Lok Sabha during a discussion on paper leaks and educational system reforms. She highlighted her visit to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital to meet a student injured during a police lathicharge, describing the distress expressed by the student's mother. She questioned the government on the use of tear gas, lathicharge, water cannons, and force against protesting students and youth.
Raising concerns over systemic failures in examinations, she stated that 152 paper leaks occurred in the last decade, affecting 7.5 crore students without convictions. She criticised the centralisation of exams under the Testing Agency, budget allocations for education, and appointments in oversight committees. She demanded accountability, reform in the examination process, and direct engagement with education experts, teachers, and students to build a transparent education system.
