When Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), arrived in New Delhi from Boston on June 6, 2026, he likely did not anticipate the scale of attention that would follow. Initially dismissed by critics as an online activist, Dipke soon emerged as the face of nationwide student protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. The movement eventually culminated in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, one of the key demands raised by protesters.

Now, with the agitation called off, Dipke’s family is turning its attention to a more personal matter — his marriage. According to his mother, Anita Dipke, the family has been receiving marriage proposals for the activist, a trend that has continued even after the protests ended. “We were receiving marriage proposals for Abhijeet even before the CJP protest against the NEET paper leak started, and they continue to come in," Anita Dipke told The Indian Express. She said she hopes to see her son married by December or January, though the final decision will rest with him. Anita revealed that she had raised the subject while Abhijeet was still in the United States, but he did not respond at the time. “As parents, we have been pursuing him to get married, but when he returns home in a few days, we will bring up the subject again and let him take the final call," she said.

Speaking about the period after the launch of CJP, Anita said the family faced difficult circumstances as Abhijeet allegedly began receiving threats in Boston. She claimed the family temporarily moved to the Konkan region and stayed with relatives for nearly two weeks. She also said that the family was unaware of Abhijeet’s plans to launch the Cockroach Janta Party. “We learned everything through news channels when we saw his interviews," Anita said.
