This came on a day when a high-level meeting was held in Jammu to review security and administrative preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. The meeting was chaired by Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and co-chaired by Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti, with senior officials from various departments and districts in attendance.
During the meeting, authorities discussed arrangements to ensure a smooth, organised and grand celebration on August 15. The review covered key aspects including security measures, traffic regulation, parade arrangements, cultural programmes, stage management, illumination, drinking water supply, medical facilities, sanitation and other essential services at M A Stadium Jammu and venues across the division.
The Divisional Commissioner directed all departments to complete their assigned tasks within the stipulated time and ensure effective coordination. He stressed that public safety and convenience must remain the top priority during the celebrations, while also emphasising discipline and adherence to protocol.
