Kallakurichi Member of Parliament D. Malaiyarasan reviewed various Central schemes being implemented in the district at the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in Kallakurichi on Monday. The meeting reviewed the implementation and operation of various schemes under the departments of rural development and panchayat raj, local administration, revenue, Adi-dravidar and tribal welfare, departments of agriculture, forests and animal husbandry, public works and highways, among others.
The allocation of funds under each scheme, the ongoing works, and the progress made, besides those that were completed, were reviewed during the meeting, in which Villupuram Member of Parliament D. Ravikumar and Collector J.E. Padmaja participated. The various line departments implementing the schemes under the Union government were directed to ensure quality infrastructure work.
Officials were instructed to pay greater attention to health department-related schemes and to promptly forward proposals for new project works to the government. The MP emphasised that all schemes
whether Central or State-funded, must be completed on time. He also directed officials to work in a coordinated manner and ensure that government schemes reached the beneficiaries without fail.
