In an interview with India Today, Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury addressed the ongoing political debate over parliamentary proceedings, protest movements, and government policy. Speaking on fellow parliamentarian Kangana Ranaut, Chowdhury stated, "Even a person like Kangana is a victim herself of BJP politics," noting that Ranaut failed to see the broader picture regarding women protesting at Jantar Mantar. Turning to parliamentary proceedings, Chowdhury criticized the government's stance on the Anti Paper Leak Bill, calling its allegations that the opposition is stalling the measure baseless.
She questioned why the government failed to implement recommendations from the Radhakrishna committee or address paper leak issues raised earlier by Rahul Gandhi. Chowdhury condemned police action against protesting youth and demanded an apology from the Home Minister. Rejecting claims that Congress sought political mileage from student pressure groups, she asserted that citizens and youth exercised their democratic rights, adding that the behavior of the government remained unparliamentary.
