Science experiment kits are being provided to students of government school to encourage experiential learning and nurture a scientific outlook, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha. Distributing the kits, called Geni kits, to students during a programme held at CVR Municipal High School in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Mr. Lakshmisha said that the science kits would help rural students develop interest in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology through practical learning and innovation, with laboratories already available in schools, The Collector highlighted that this was one of the innovative initiatives implemented by the State government to improve school education and urged students to make the best use of the facilities and opportunities provided by the government.
Later, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) member secretary K. Sharath Kumar said the council was placing special emphasis on nurturing student scientists by encouraging them to ask questions about their surroundings, investigate them scientifically, conduct experiments independently, and pursue innovation. He said that the kits would help students perform 40 different science experiments.
Meanwhile, the programme was jointly organised by the APCOST, the School Education department, Samagra Shiksha, LEAP, SCERT, and Geni Science, a startup. A training session
was also conducted for science teachers on the effective use of the kits.
