Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a scathing attack on the government in the Lok Sabha during a debate on the anti-NEET bill, raising critical issues regarding paper leaks and police actions against protesting students. Recounting her visit to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital to check on an injured student in the ICU, she described the pain and heartbreak of parents whose children faced brutal police force.
'What was the need to oppress innocent children in this manner?' she asked, condemning the use of tear gas, lathi-charges, and water cannons on student demonstrators. She highlighted that over the past decade, 152 paper leaks have affected 7.5 crore students without a single guilty individual or mafia being punished. Criticising the centralisation under the Testing Agency and cuts in education spending, she demanded government accountability for the country's youth.
