Priyanka Gandhi addressed Parliament during a debate on amending the 2024 paper leak legislation to increase penalties for examination offences. Priyanka Gandhi criticised the government for failing to punish paper leak perpetrators while using facial recognition technology to publicly display the names and addresses of protesting students. Highlighting systemic failures in the education framework, Priyanka Gandhi noted that recommendations from the Radhakrishnan Committee remain unimplemented, while questioning the expertise of members appointed to the new examination reform panel.
Advising the government to consult genuine education experts, teachers, and students rather than relying solely on ideological appointees, Priyanka Gandhi stated, 'Students can be removed from the street, but not their questions.'
