Police said he suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair. Investigators said that after hanging Bhagyashree, the accused allegedly recorded a video capturing her struggling for life and circulated the clip among relatives and friends. He also video called her parents while she was gasping for breath, forcing them to witness the harrowing scene.
Bhagyashree had been staying with her parents following frequent disputes with her husband. According to investigators, Praveen persuaded her to return home after assuring her that they would live together peacefully. However, she was killed the very evening she returned. A video of the incident, which has surfaced online, purportedly shows Bhagyashree hanging by a green dupatta while struggling for life. The names of the couple, written on the bedroom wall during their wedding celebrations, are visible in the background.
