The Telangana Food Safety department teams inspected Vennela Food Court in Hyderabad’s Saroornagar on Monday (July 27, 2026) and found several serious food safety and hygiene violations. According to the department, the establishment operated without a valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence.
Officials also found prepared food kept near drains, stored on newspapers, and left without proper wrapping or labelling. The inspection further revealed that broken eggs were used for food preparation. Food handlers were found to have maintained poor personal hygiene, while the kitchen, washing area and exhaust system were unhygienic and greasy.
Officials also noted the absence of mandatory medical fitness records for food handlers and pest control records at the premises. The department said appropriate action
has been initiated against the establishment under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
