A knife-wielding man injured three women, including a pregnant woman, in northern Paris before being overpowered by bystanders, with witnesses saying the suspect claimed he was acting on a command from Allah. The attack took place at Porte de Clichy, near the Paris Court, where the man, dressed in a cream-coloured tracksuit and carrying two butcher’s knives, was seen roaming the streets before targeting pedestrians.

The person filming the incident can be heard warning people to stay away from the “armed lunatic" as panic spread through the area. One of the bystanders, 26-year-old Mohamed-Ali Bouhadjar, told Reuters he decided to intervene after witnessing one of the attacks. “When I saw him stab a woman in the back, I started shouting, ‘Come on, let’s stop him!’ Several people stepped in," Bouhadjar said.
According to him, one passerby threw a suitcase at the attacker, causing him to drop the knives. “At that moment, I grabbed him, swept his legs out from under him, and we pinned him to the ground," he said. Videos from the scene later showed the suspect restrained on a pedestrian crossing with two butcher’s knives lying nearby. Reuters reported that while being held on the ground, the suspect repeatedly said, “It is Allah who commanded me." He was subsequently taken into custody by an off-duty police officer.
